Vaeshartelt as a whole wishes to maintain its societal and cultural heritage in a sustainable manner and we keenly support the cradle-to-cradle philosophy.
Focus on sustainability
For instance, our hotel rooms are furnished with sustainable furniture, curtains and floor covering and our buildings are largely fitted with energy-efficient LED lights. Our dishes are made with local produce and fruit and nuts from our own garden. To achieve this, we work closely with local suppliers and partners who value sustainability just as much as Vaeshartelt does.
Nature lends a hand
We gladly invite nature to help us along. For example, earwig pots are hung in every tree to help us with pest control, and we use owl boxes to help us combat water voles.
A ‘green’ approach
Vaeshartelt has been awarded the Greenkey Label Gold: the ultimate international standard for sustainable companies in the recreation and leisure sector and business market. Because we try to use a green approach for all we do, we are offering the ‘green meeting’ option. For this, we commissioned the design of a green meeting room (literally): the Gindra. Designer Maurice Mentjens, winner of numerous international awards, created this room that was inspired by the cradle-to-cradle principle.
